Diapers and Dimples: #theadventuresofthreeoats

We decided to travel to the Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda in Punta Cana for our family moon. It was a much needed vacation. Well, not so much of a vacation as it was a getaway. A much needed getaway in the cold of winter. Whoever said it was difficult to travel with an infant was oh so right. But, Sophia turned five months just before the end of the trip, and we were so happy to have had this experience with her.

There was so much gear to bring along, to make sure that we were comfortable on the trip. Our largest and invaluable gear that we brought along included our UppaBaby GLuxe for Sophia to stroll around the resort in, and to sit in during our meals, our Kidco PeaPod for daytime naps while we are sunbathing at the beach, and a floatation device for Sophia's first experience in the resort's pool. Then there was the ErgoBaby travel carrier that we brought along which we were able to put Sophia in at the airport and whilst we walked along the beach.

Sophia was fantastic on the plane, warranting the admiration of other passengers! No cries, just a couple signs of discomfort, which pushed me to change up her positioning. Now if I could only figure out how to keep her this comfortable during car rides!

During the daytime at the resort, we lounged around at the poolside and the beach. We were happy we brought the Peapod because when Sophia took her naps in there during the late morning and afternoon, we enjoyed canoodling time in the pool! My favourite memory of the trip was the long walks on the beach, with hubs holding Sophia in the carrier. We were able to revel in our romantic, candlelit dinner at the speciality restaurants with Sophia napping in her stroller, and then headed back to our room for an early night in.

As aforementioned, we are so happy to have had this experience with Sophia. We know she came into our lives wanting to join us on all of our journeys. We just can't wait for our next adventure...~cough, cough~ Europe! And, I realized, while trying to relax in the pool that I'm holding onto so much stress! I had to remind myself continuously to breathe and let go. This year is all about practising what I preach!
