Chapter 2/12

I literally opened this page to write an entry, after many weeks of being incognito, and my tot has awoken from her slumber. Before I rush off to be at her service, I will say that it is painfully cold outside. Temperatures of (feels like) -20 on a good day make us rethink that our annual Christmas beach getaway should be moved forward a few weeks to February. Wouldn't mind celebrating my birthday in Jamaica!

The minutes quickly turn into hours, which quickly turn into days and weeks, and the next thing I know it, I'm celebrating my daughter's 19 month birthday (yesterday, February 18th). You hear from parents, "Where does the time go?" But, really, I'll modify this to "Why does the time go?" I've been trying to preserve Sophia in her petit munchkin stage for as long as I can, via pictures and videos. I wonder why time has to go by so quickly when we are having fun in this whole parenting/learning experience. My Instagram has turned into my Baby Book. I wish I could just print my pictures I take of her automatically and easily at home.

Sophia's 18th month was probably the most fun ever. She is babbling up a storm, and her compassionate and calm personality is shining through. Her favourite words are "potato" and "bus" and I want to eat her with every squish and cuddle. Why do we want to eat our cute babies?

Well, nursing time calls. Here's to another chance on another day to update the blog. Whoever is reading this, I hope you're cozy out there, and bringing your own warmth and light to your experiences.
