We Are Monkeys!

Whilst at the Bed and Breakfast nook, we decided to go out to The Toronto Zoo during Teacher's Day! I carried Sophia in the Ergo for the most part so that she could have an up close and personal view of the animals. We went through almost all of the exhibits, and particularly enjoyed the Orangutans! Did you know that mother orangutans and their babies share such a strong bond that the babies will stay with their mom for the first six or seven years until they go off on their own and develop the skills necessary to self-survive? Female orangutans only give birth once in eight years, which is the longest time period of any animal, probably because mama monkey is occupied with meticulously caring for baby monkey. What a smart mama! I think she is onto something, no?
